Quality Verification Specialists support the Technical Services team with internal quality auditing.  They verify Preventive Maintenance (PM) process specifications and standards are accurately followed within Universal Orlando Technical Services. They devise and implement Internal Audit programs, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance.



Attention to detail, superior technical skills, and possessing the ability to use good judgment under pressure are just some of the key attributes we are looking for in our Quality Verification Specialists.

Quality Verification Specialists at Universal Orlando are responsible for:

  • Performing personnel performance audits for PMs, annual NDT, and other quality control duties as required for Universal Orlando attractions to ensure compliance with company procedures.  Monitoring progress for each applicable function.
  • Developing procedures, training plans, implementation and auditing processes to ensure that the Technical Services department is in compliance with the company procedures, codes and standards as applicable.
  • Providing training of audit personnel as required.  This will consist of on the job and formal training on existing procedures and processes as well as improving the quality of the service provided.
  • Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities. 
  • Performing other duties as assigned.



To perform the role of a Quality Verification Specialist successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • High school degree or GED is required. Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license is required to operate company vehicles.
  • American Society for Quality certification, RABQSA certification, or equivalent is required.
  • NAARSO certification, AIMS certification, or equivalent is preferred.
  • 5 years experience in mechanical assembly and parts fabrication required.
  • 3 years experience in a decision-making position is required. “Decision-making” is defined as the authority to define, execute, or control projects/processes and to be responsible for the outcome.
  • 3 years experience auditing maintenance PMs is preferred.
  • 3 years experience with amusement industry standards, amusement rides safety standards, planning, policies and procedures preferred.
  • Continuing education in the field of electrical inspection, preventative maintenance, inspection processes, and new technology, Florida statutes, Ride Law and engineering preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of maintenance and inspection processes.  Written technical communication skills will be used as part of the job.  Reliability, probability and statistics training are a plus.
  • Must possess the knowledge and ability to effectively conduct different types of inspections in a professional, ethical and objective manner using and interpreting applicable standards/requirements, with an awareness of potential legal and financial ramifications.
  • Must be able to effectively plan, develop, communicate and execute inspections within a defined scope, including resource scheduling, conducting necessary meetings in performance of the inspection and using appropriate inspection techniques.
  • Must be able to verify, document and communicate inspection results, develop an inspection report and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective action/follow-up.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills to resolve conflict, conduct interviews and make presentations effectively.
  • Must be able to participate in, lead and facilitate teams. Must understand how quality principles relate to business processes and be able to explain the importance of aligning the inspection function to the organization.

 The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Quality Verification Specialist job.

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Will require performing maintenance or servicing on powerized (energized) equipment (pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical).
  • Will require the use of a Highreach (Aerial lift).
  • Will require repetitive motion.

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the Quality Verification Specialist job.

  • Will require working with waste paint/solvents.
  • Will require working at heights greater than 4 ft.
  • Will require exposure to loud noise.
