Universal Orlando Registered Nurses provide the initial first aid care by examining and treating injuries and illnesses according to company protocols as established by the medical director.Registered Nurses at Universal Orlando are responsible for:
- Using expertise to make sound nursing judgments in regard to guests' and Team Members' conditions.
- Determining and authorizing required outside medical attention.
- Strictly adhering to and actively promoting all Health Services Policies and Procedures while performing duties.
- Accurately completing appropriate paperwork for each guest's and/or Team Member's treatment.
- Filing completed chart(s) along with all necessary copies into the appropriate files.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, a professional appearance and ensuring actions are above reproach at all times.
- Completing opening and/or closing procedures as needed.
- Participating and assisting in staff meetings, in-service programs and development activities as required or requested.
- Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
To perform the role of a Registered Nurse successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality is a job requirement.
- Nursing Degree. RN-Current license as a Registered Nurse, State of Florida. BLS- Mandatory certification as BLS provider. ACLS-Mandatory certification as an Advance cardiac life support provider.
- + 1 Year: Minimum of 1 year work experience required in an ER or Trauma setting.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Registered Nurse job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly (2/3 or more of time) required to walk, reach with hands and arms; frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of time) required to stand, talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; occasionally (up to 1/3 of time) required to sit, taste or smell.
- The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to more than 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close Vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the Registered Nurse job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions; frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places.
- While performing this job, the noise level in the work environment is Moderate Noise.
