Let’s make a difference together Learn more about us by visiting www.caatpension.ca The Manager, Investment Performance is integral to the success of the Investment Finance team, and to CAAT’s guiding mission and growth strategy. Reporting to the Director, Investment Finance, the Manager is responsible for producing accurate, timely and comprehensive performance reporting and analysis on CAAT’s portfolio. The incumbent will utilize various systems and analytical tools to generate total portfolio, asset class and manager-level attribution analysis to support portfolio management related decisions. We are looking for someone with: At least 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance within a pension plan or the financial services industry in a performance measurement role. This involves calculating, analyzing, and reporting on portfolio performance. University degree or College diploma in Accounting or Business Administration. Progression toward, or completion of, CIPM and/or CFA designation would be considered a strong asset. Working knowledge of Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®) is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate: Understanding of complex institutional investment portfolios (i.e. knowledge of equities, fixed income, hedge funds, private markets, and derivatives/overlay) and industry standard performance measurement and benchmarking practices Experience preparing and presenting portfolio and market performance results on behalf of a large institutional asset owner is preferred (e.g. endowment, foundation, or pension) Robust understanding of performance measurement and performance attribution concepts for a portfolio. Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a high attention to detail. Experience interacting with and communicating to various stakeholders regarding industry standard performance measurement and benchmarking practices. Effective team player with the demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams. Once here you will: Ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly/quarterly/annual investment performance, asset allocation, and various portfolio metrics as required. Develop comprehensive performance measurement and analytics reporting for various stakeholders, including the Investment Team, Senior Management and Board of Trustees. Oversee our third-party service provider, BNY Mellon, in the calculation of portfolio performance metrics. This involves establishing controls for monitoring and reconciliation of performance related data. Conduct detailed analysis of performance at various levels to assess investment performance, including attribution in both relative and absolute terms. Take ownership of special projects as they arise (e.g. projects related to investment performance systems upgrade or development of new performance attribution models). Continuously refine performance measurement techniques to ensure alignment with the latest industry standards and compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Act as a primary point of contact for performance-related inquiries from internal teams, board members, and external parties.
