Selectee is guaranteed to work at least 6 months per year but not more than 50 weeks per year, with the work schedule to be determined upon appointment. The typical season for Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is mid-January-December but can be variable during these months due to project requirements or weather conditions.

Job Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision. Must possess a valid state driver license (SCREEN OUT) Maintenance Workers at this level perform maintenance worker duties associated with more than one trade such as: carpentry (constructs, installs, repairs and replace items such as doors, shelves, etc.); painting (preparing surfaces, determine painting materials to be used and method of application, and painting a variety of surfaces); plumbing (replace various valves, unions, elbows, fixtures, toilets, faucets and various types of pipe and copper lines, cut and thread pipes, winterize water systems, etc.);electrical repairs including removing, replacing, tightening, splicing, and insulating defective wiring and fixtures; Must possess a valid State Driver's license (SCREEN OUT) Knowledge of Equipment, Assembly Installation, Repair, etc Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment (inc. Use of Measuring Instruments. PD minimally supports element) Knowledge of Materials If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
