Job Description

Duties: Planning and Coordination: plan the layout, setup, and logistics of events, working with clients and vendors to ensure all details are met. Staff Management: hire, train, schedule, and supervise event staff, including servers, bartenders, and event technicians. Budgeting and Financial Management: manage event budgets, negotiate contracts with vendors, and ensure financial goals are met. Client Relations: act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, managing RSVPs, and ensuring a positive event experience. Vendor Management: select and negotiate with vendors (caterers, AV providers, etc.) to ensure the event's needs are met. Event Execution: oversee the execution of the event on the day, ensuring it runs smoothly and meets the client's expectations. Post-Event Follow-up: gather feedback, address any issues, and ensure client satisfaction after the event. Ensuring Safety and Compliance: ensure the venue is safe, clean, and complies with all relevant regulations and building codes. Requirements: Matric certificate or equivalent. Diploma in Food and Beverage / Hospitality and/or recognized professional qualifications from a reputable institution or hotel school. 5 years relevant experience in a similar role in large establishments or convention centre. Extensive experience in negotiating and communication with clients and staff. Experience in asset and furniture management. Experience in inventory (stock) management, control, and count experience. Computer literacy on various computer software programs Must have own transport. Shift, late and weekend work applies. Basic knowledge and understanding of financial principles.
