The role of the host/hostess is a crucial part of the dining experience, as this position serves as the first point of contact for guests. The host/hostess significantly influences the initial impression that guests will have of the restaurant. Key responsibilities Include managing reservations, assigning tables, and ensuring that they are properly set up. The host/hostess will communicate with all staff members, keep menus clean and updated, and answer phone calls. They will provide guests with information about the restaurant, including the food style, directions, and dress code. Additionally, the host/hostess will work with the OpenTable system and assist managers with tasks necessary to ensure excellent guest service. The ideal candidate must be confident, outgoing, and bilingual in Spanish and English. Required Skills and Experience Background in restaurant or guest services Proficient written and spoken English - Familiarity with computer systems Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Understanding of telephone operations and the functions of different departments within the resort Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure Excellent communication skills Strong teamwork abilities Suitable candidate will be reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager .
