We are growing fast and looking to have an enthusiastic Medical Assistant join our team. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Medical Assistant at Apex Heart and Vascular Center. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for various day-to-day tasks related to medical assisting, patient care, medical office procedures, and maintaining medical records. We currently have openings in our Nutley, Jersey City, Maplewood and Mountainside locations. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience. Key Responsibilities Greet and answer phone calls professionally and courteously. Greet and attend to patients in person at the front desk for check-in and check out Professionally assist family members of the patients, other staff members, visitors, vendors, and providers. Schedule appointments for the patients. Able to perform accurate documentation of patient visits and has excellent database (spreadsheet) skills Has working knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA rules. Able to pay meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multitask. Qualifications Medical Assisting and Patient Care Skills Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Medical Office Procedures Proficiency in managing Medical Records Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team setting Certification in Medical Assisting is a plus Bilingual in languages like Arabic, Spanish, or Vietnamese is a plus. Excellent documentation, communication, and IT skills Previous experience in a cardiology setting is beneficial
