Senior Accountant

Sparks Group has partnered with a renowned government transportation contractor to seek several highly skilled and results-oriented Sr. Financial Reporting Accountants. The Senior Financial Accountant will support year-end reporting and audit preparation by reviewing accruals, processing vouchers, and preparing and analyzing financial reports. The Senior Financial Accountant will ensure the accuracy of expense reporting and the completeness of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. If you’re looking for an exciting opportunity as a new step in your career, apply now Key Responsibilities: Review invoices and vouchers to confirm performance periods and ensure expenses are recorded correctly. Analyze and reconcile vouchers against accruals to identify and track unrecorded liabilities. Calculate expenses for invoices covering multiple fiscal years. Prepare and analyze key financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data to prepare audit schedules, journal entries, and supporting documentation. Perform general ledger account reconciliations t and prepare journal entries. Reconcile vouchers against previous fiscal year accruals to identify and track unrecorded liabilities. Assist with resolving discrepancies in financial records and prepare work papers to support audit requests. Support revisions to financial reports based on audit findings and internal reviews. Monitor and respond to inquiries in designated email boxes related to reporting and accruals. Required Skills: Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and expense reconciliation, with the ability to interpret financial statements. Knowledge of GAAP and GASB principles. Experience with PeopleSoft Financials or similar ERP platforms. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
