The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel belonging to Marriott International, is currently recruiting for a Chef de Rang. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Chef de Rang will be part of a team of high-level professionals with a strong passion for F&B. This is a seasonal, full-time contract role (40-hour working week). It offers an opportunity to work in a place of exceptional art and elegance, blending history and culture with Venetian style. Your goal is to deliver memorable dining experiences that guests will cherish long after their stay. What you’ll be doing Welcoming guests and attending to tables promptly Serving food and beverages, making recommendations when needed Sharing menu knowledge and assisting with special requests Recording transactions accurately in the MICROS system Checking guest satisfaction after each course Cleaning tables, completing closing duties, and re-stocking supplies Communicating with kitchen staff regarding orders, menu questions, and dietary needs Following cycle time guidelines and maintaining cleanliness of work areas Inspecting china, glass, and silverware for cleanliness and presentation Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and brand standards What we’re looking for Legal right to work in Italy with a valid work permit for full-time employment (40 hours/week) Fluent in English and Italian Understanding of F&B operations and luxury hospitality Positive, outgoing personality with great conversational skills Team-oriented attitude Experience in fine dining restaurants is advantageous Knowledge of Micros is preferred This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and maintain a professional appearance in uniform. Safety training and certification will be required prior to employment.
