Job Description Job Description Aerotek is hiring a CNC Setup Operator Are you a skilled CNC Setup Operator with a knack for precision and efficiency? We're looking for someone to set up and prepare CNC machines for various machining tasks, including drilling, tapping, reaming, boring, and milling. If you excel at operating CNC machinery and using precision measurement tools, and have a strong attention to detail, this role is perfect for you What You'll Do: Machine Setup: Prepare CNC machines for drilling, tapping, reaming, boring, and milling based on program setup sheets. Tool Usage: Utilize dial indicators, touch probes, magnetic chucks, and heat shrink equipment daily. Precision Measurement: Regularly use dial calipers and micrometers. Task Specifications: Interpret setup sheets and blueprints to understand task requirements and desired outcomes. Machine Supervision: Oversee CNC machines during operations, adjusting speeds and feeds as necessary. Maintenance: Perform daily checks and maintenance to ensure machinery functionality. Documentation: Complete paperwork such as operating procedure checklists and dimensional checks. Issue Reporting: Identify equipment issues and notify supervisors or maintenance personnel. Quality Control: Inform programmer, lead man, or manager of any quality concerns. Safety: Report unsafe conditions and actively participate in promoting a safe work environment. What We're Looking For: Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: Previous experience as a CNC setup operator. Proficiency: Skilled in operating CNC machinery and precision measurement tools like dial indicators, calipers, and micrometers. Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings. Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in computer and email usage. Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical principles and proficient math skills. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Communication: Good verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Work Ethic: Ability to work under pressure, adhere to schedules, and maintain a clean work area. Certifications: CNC Machining certificate (a plus). Experience: TIG welding experience and familiarity with vertical mills and lathe mills. Education: Vocational schooling. Conditions: The work environment can be very hot in the summer, and garage doors may need to remain closed to maintain temperature for heat press machines. Shift Details: Position is for the 2nd shift (3 PM - 11 PM) with occasional Saturdays. Training will be on the 1st shift (7 AM - 3 PM, Mon-Fri). Flexibility is required as the schedule may change based on job and team needs. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
