Senior Accountant

Job Description Job Description Job Summary/Company : Sparks Group has partnered with an environmental services company to find a Senior Accountant. As the Sr. Accountant, you will be responsible for complex account reconciliations, preparing financial reports, maintaining general ledger, tax returns and assisting with audit prep. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of relative accounting experience along with an associate’s degree in accounting (or related) and strong knowledge of GAAP. If you’re looking for your next opportunity, apply now Responsibilities : Oversee accounting functions, prepare/analyze financial reports, develop/monitor budgets, and maintain/reconcile financial records. Reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies, ensure GAAP compliance, perform monthly revenue recognition, and lead financial reviews with leadership. Support annual audits, address findings, and prepare/file federal, state, and local tax returns. Review and enhance accounting systems/processes, collaborate with software vendors, and document internal controls. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GAAP and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices. Qualifications/Background Profile : Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Minimum 5 years’ relative accounting experience Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP Strong financial analysis skills Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel. This job is Hybrid Remote.
