Job Description Job Description Job Title: Material Handler Job Description As a Material Handler, you will operate a Genie Boom Lift or telehandler and be responsible for tying rebar and rigging it together in bundles to be picked up via the boom lift. Previous experience working in a manufacturing or rebar environment is preferred. You will be required to start immediately with minimal training. Responsibilities Operate Genie Boom Lift or telehandler Tie rebar and rig it together in bundles Handle materials and perform tasks related to material handling Utilize overhead cranes, boom trucks, and reach trucks Perform welding, grinding, and deburring tasks Bend conduit and operate various machines Essential Skills Experience in labor and production environments Proficient in handling rebar and rigging Skilled in operating overhead cranes and boom trucks Ability to use tape measures and rigging chains Experience with welding, grinding, and deburring Knowledge of machine operation and bending conduit Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in using tape measures Experience with rigging chains to tie rebar bundles Ability to use overhead cranes Experience with reach truck and boom use Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based in an industrial environment downtown at a rebar manufacturer. The office has only one person at the front desk along with the Operations Manager. The dress code is business casual in the office and jeans, steel toes, and a t-shirt in the shop. Safety glasses are required in safety-sensitive areas. The environment can be hot and dirty, so be prepared for physical work conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, Florida. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
