This is an exciting opportunity to join our Microbiology Division where you will work on products that make a difference in a manufacturing setting. Our Operators are responsible for assisting in the manufacturing process of agars by loading products, checking volumes, ensuring quality, and more. Responsibilities Efficiently and safely operate assigned machinery and perform simple maintenance, reporting malfunctioning equipment immediately to the Supervisor or Lead. Set up and adjust machines to run at different sizes. Obtain correct materials for operation needs from the warehouse or staging area. Organize production flow, ensure that materials are available, estimate the progress of the line, and schedule breaks while adhering to the production time schedule in a safe manner. Document work accurately and check for quality and compliance. Monitor products for defects and assist with the inventory process. Complete production assignments in a timely manner and in accordance with departmental schedules. Essential Skills Experience in production, packaging, hand tool usage, inspection, assembly, cleanroom, general labor, and machine operation. Additional Skills & Qualifications 3 months of production experience preferred (not required). Experience working in a fast-paced environment (production, fast food, retail, restaurant, etc.). A good attitude and growth mindset. Ability to understand and implement directions. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment includes a large facility with two separate buildings, high standards for cleanliness, and adherence to regulations. All production lines have clear instructions posted in each room for PPE and rules. The site is organized and well-run. Supervisors may be tough on contractors at first, but they focus on retention, training, and promoting from within after proving oneself. The 325,000-square-foot Middletown plant, located on 18 acres, manufactures in vitro diagnostic testing instruments used to detect diseases, infections, and other conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Middletown, Virginia. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.43/hr.
