SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Rogers Trucking Supervisor the associate will be directly responsible for the movement of product daily and over the road while out of state with company vehicles. Associate must maintain a Class A endorsement and an up-to-date approved DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive Class A vehicles interstate out for up to between one and two weeks while performing the responsibilities listed below and residing in the truck cab sleeper. Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition. Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles. Maintain all delivery and pick up documents. Maintain telephone contact with supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new locations. Position wheel chocks on trailers when docked at all times. Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions. Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers. Maintain records such as DVIR(Diver Vehicle Inspection Report) logs and HOS(Hours Of Service) logs Notify the proper repair facilities to perform emergency repairs such as break downs, changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses. Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles or delays or accidents to supervisor. Turn in receipts from daily and weekly road trips. Complete a monthly credit card receipt report. Use and maintain the tools and equipment used on trailers such as hand trucks, lift gates. Must be able to obtain a Forklift Operators permit through training, performance and written testing. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE : Candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED. Class A Endorsement LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret the English language. Associate must have the ability to effectively communicate with fellow associates and managers. REASONSING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Must Maintain an approved DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required to stand, walk, and bend over, use of arms and hands.
