Job Description Job Description We are looking for a responsible Food Service Technician I and II to serve at an area hospital. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a food service role focused on food preparation and distribution while maintaining safety, sanitation, and infection control standards. Position: Food Service Tech I & II Environment: Hospital Hours: Full Time Hours Location: Atascadero, CA Pay: $17.00 - $19.00/ Hour Length: Temp-To-Hire Opportunity Responsibilities: Maintain order, cleanliness, and sanitation in assigned areas of responsibility (including but not limited to the dining rooms and during patient meal service and/or special events). Adhere to requirements for safety, security, emergency response, a non-hostile work environment, and rights of patients. Adhere to and document all food safety requirements and procedures. Must follow and adhere to requirements for infection control and food safety/ Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points( HACCP) guidelines in all work areas. Must be able to provide written and/or verbal communications and daily documentation required in the various work areas. Keep the assigned area(s) clean daily. Food Preparation, including checking the food textures and temperatures. Checking meals to ensure diet restrictions are being followed. Receiving, Prep, Storage, and Processing of various food items. Participate in Performance Improvement activities and other miscellaneous responsibilities. May assist with cleaning, assembly, and use of kitchen equipment or tools. Consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required. Skills/ Qualifications Food Service Technician I : Minimum 6 months experience in an institution, hotel, or restaurant, either serving, cleaning food service areas, or assisting with the preparation and service of foods and beverages. Food Service Technician II : (Either): One year of experience performing the duties of a Food Service Technician I in the California State Service (OR): Two years of experience in the distribution and service of foods in large quantity. Experience and knowledge of food handling & safety guidelines (HACCP) Flexibility to be scheduled any day of the week or any time of the day. Reliable transportation to work in Atascadero. Attention to detail and conscientiousness. Physically capable of standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling weights up to 50lbs throughout the day. High school diploma is preferred but not required. These positions require you to work within the Secured Treatment Area (STA) This position requires candidates to pass a Medical Evaluation You will be required to submit to a Medical Evaluation and receive clearance before being hired. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required. We use E-Verify for employment authorization purposes. Minimum 18 years old.
