Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg / Telemetry - $2,962 per week

LanceSoft is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Chesapeake, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 05/19/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Chesapeake is located in the beautiful area known as “Coastal Virginia.” Located Just minutes away from Virginia Beach and Norfolk, VA Chesapeake is an outdoor lover’s paradise offering trails for all levels of hikers and over 20 waterways to explore AUTO OFFER 3x12 or 4x12 (OT after 48) Nights; weekdays, EOW, Float, Holidays within contract. Must be willing to float. No block scheduling can be accommodated. BLS ACLS required via American Heart Association NIHSS required Compact or VA license in hand - no exceptions Skills required: vents, IV start, Telemetry, PA Lines, Conscious Sedation, Neuro IV titration, Insulin IV experience, strong Neuro experience required Patient types in SDU: This is a general SDU with a variety of patient populations. We primarily see: pulmonary – acute respiratory failure secondary to pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, and/or CHF exacerbation; cardiac - NSTEMI/STEMI not requiring ICU level of care and/or downgrade from ICU, /- cardiac Cath, CHF/CMO requiring BIPAP/diuresis, AFIB with RVR requiring Cardizem/Amio gtt, or complete heart block awaiting AICD/Pacemaker; sepsis not requiring pressors; minor trauma – hip/femur/ankle fracture s/p fall; CIWA; DKA requiring insulin gtt; some surgical patients – surgeries typically go to MedSurg or ICU however we do see the occasional vascular surgery (arterial bypass or compartment syndrome requiring neurovascular checks) and/or post-op complications from MedSurg. Typical Ratios are 1:4, sometimes 1:5 ALL TRAVELERS are expected to float in turn and take MedSurg appropriate ratios which minimally should be 1:6 and our hospital sometimes is 1:7 on MS Must be EPIC proficient - NO EXCEPTIONS 1 years experience required (would prefer someone with 3 years), travel experience preferred Local Rules: No RN candidates will be accepted if they reside less than 50 miles from facility.
