Sous Chef

We are seeking a Sous Chef / Second Chef to join a unique conference venue. The role involves preparing high-quality meals for a variety of guests, with a strong emphasis on traditional, fresh wholesome cooking and baked items. Key Responsibilities Assist the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations. Prepare a variety of high-quality meals for both individual guests and larger groups Basic pastry & bread making Adapt menus/dishes for dietary needs and allergens. Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness across kitchen and food storage areas. Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and internal procedures. Ideal Sous Chef/Second Chef Requirements Ideally 35 years of professional kitchen experience in a similar busy setting Pastry & bread making experience is essential Strong background in traditional cooking and baking from scratch for large groups/bulk cookery Catering qualifications preferred Confident using basic computer programs (e.g. for writing menus and allergen tracking). Flexible and calm under pressure, with a team-spirited and helpful approach. Candidates must have good communication skills and be able to work independently.
