️ Temporary School Cook - Colchester Location: Colchester Dates Required: Monday 12th - Thursday 15th May 2025 Rate: £25.20 per hour Hours: 08:00 - 14:00 (Tuesday-Thursday) | Monday for kitchen induction We're urgently seeking a reliable and flexible School Cook to cover kitchen duties at a primary school in Colchester during SATs week. This is a short but vital assignment, and we need someone who can hit the ground running and adapt to changes in the daily routine. Role Overview: Prep and cook hot school meals for students Service time: approx. 12:00 - 12:45 (may be delayed due to SATs testing) Kitchen clean-down and close by 14:00 Support from a Kitchen Assistant (11:00-14:00) Induction: Ideally available Monday 12th May to shadow the Catering Manager and learn the kitchen setup. What We're Looking For: Proven experience in school or commercial kitchens Able to adapt quickly and manage fluctuating lunch times due to SATs Positive, proactive attitude with good communication skills Requirements (must-have): Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate Safeguarding training Enhanced DBS check (up-to-date and valid) This is an important and fast-paced role during a key week for students, so we're looking for someone dependable, calm under pressure, and ready to adapt as needed.
