Job Description Job Description Job Summary: The Engineering Technician I is responsible for making all mechanical repairs and refinishing all guestrooms and guest corridors. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties & Responsibilities: Maintain and repair all guestrooms in accordance with the Preventative Maintenance procedures and guidelines. Report any unusual findings or safety hazards immediately to the Director of Support Services and Team Leader. Document all work performed on a room inspection sheet and work orders. Prepare and maintain a daily and quarterly log of all rooms completed. Maintain a clean and orderly C.A.R.E. p.m. cart containing all necessary tools, parts, and materials. All furniture will be moved before deep cleaning begins. Successfully complete Training Certification Process and review all departmental safety information (i.e. JSA's and MSDS's), and practice emergency procedures in compliance with hotel company standards. Reacts and assist in hotel emergency situation as needed. Understand and practice hotel emergency fire procedures. Offer lateral service to internal/external customers when available. Maintain safe conditions in the work area and other associated areas. Participate in departmental problem-solving teams during the weekly and monthly core meetings. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills & Abilities: Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues. Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices to conduct regular inspections. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with other departments. Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational background in furniture, carpet, and fabric care. HVAC, plumbing, and electrical experience is required. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of walking, standing, and sitting.
