The Role: Business Development Manager |Commercial We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to help grow POLYWOOD’s presence in the Commercial and Hospitality markets—including hotels, resorts, multi-family properties, country clubs, and commercial outdoor spaces. In this role, you’ll focus on expanding relationships with new and existing commercial customers, engaging in trade shows and industry events, and actively reaching out to prospects. The ideal candidate is proactive, outgoing, and thrives on building relationships and uncovering opportunities to deliver value. This role reports directly to the VP of Commercial Sales. Key Responsibilities: The Business Development position will collaborate with leadership and drive high growth through customer engagement. Customer Engagement : Build and maintain relationships with hospitality and commercial customers through in-person visits, calls, trade shows, and virtual meetings. Prospecting & Outreach : Identify new business opportunities and generate leads through proactive outreach, CRM pipeline management, and follow-up. Trade Shows & Events : Represent POLYWOOD at key trade shows, conferences, and networking events. Help plan and execute on-site strategy to maximize visibility and conversion. Project Support : Assist in managing customer projects from initial inquiry to fulfillment, coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery. Sales Strategy : Contribute to go-to-market planning and provide feedback from the field on customer needs, trends, and competitor activity. Quoting & Follow-Up : Work with internal quoting tools and CRM systems to generate accurate proposals and follow through to close. Brand Representation : Serve as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic brand ambassador, communicating POLYWOOD’s sustainability story and value proposition. Market Knowledge : Stay informed about trends and challenges in the hospitality and commercial furniture space. Qualifications & Skills: 3–5 years of experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally in commercial furniture, hospitality, or design-related industries Strong relationship-building skills and a customer-first mindset. Ability to travel for customer meetings and trade shows Experience attending and/or managing trade show presence is a plus. Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment. CRM experience (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) is preferred. A passion for design, outdoor living, and sustainable solutions. Bonus Points: Previous experience selling case goods to hotel groups, purchasing firms, or commercial designers. Knowledge of the contract furniture or outdoor living markets. Familiarity with POLYWOOD or other sustainability-forward brands.
