We are looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to join our team as Caregivers at Mountain Shadows Community Homes in Escondido. As a caregiver, you'll play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for the residents in our care by providing support in their daily activities, offering training, and promoting social engagement. About the Position Position Summary: The Caregiver position is an excellent entry point for individuals looking to pursue a career in healthcare. At Mountain Shadows Community Homes in Escondido, we provide training and support to help you develop the skills needed to deliver quality services to the residents in our care. As a Caregiver, you will assist with daily living activities, personal hygiene, recreational activities, and more, providing compassionate support to those in need. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks such as showering, toileting, grooming, and dental care. Provide skill training to residents in areas such as self-help and independent living. Facilitate recreational and leisure activities that encourage socialization among residents. Perform housekeeping duties, including cooking, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, laundry, and general cleaning. Administer medications as required. Learn and assist with more advanced medical procedures, including taking vital signs and administering G-Tube feedings (based on training). Ensure the well-being and safety of residents at all times, following established care plans and protocols. Engage in creating a positive, welcoming, and supportive environment for all residents. Attend all required training and staff meetings to enhance knowledge and skills. Other duties as assigned to ensure the highest quality of care. Shifts Available: 3:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. 2:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. 10:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m. (overnight) Weekend-only shifts are available. Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent required and or certification in healthcare is preferred. CPR and First Aid certification required within the first 3 months of employment. Criminal background clearance, including fingerprints. Negative TB test and negative drug screening. Ability to effectively work with diverse populations. Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor. Ability to assist with personal care, housekeeping, and recreational activities. Exposure to varying temperatures, potentially hazardous chemicals, and work on slippery or uneven surfaces. Physical Demands: Must be able to use hands for various tasks, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
