Physician Assistant (PA) - Cardiothoracic Surgery in Fort Lauderdale, FL

We are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery PA or NP to join a dedicated surgical team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on a locum tenens basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative cardiovascular and thoracic surgery environment providing care across the continuum—from pre-operative assessment to post-operative management. Key Responsibilities: Assist in CVTS procedures in the operating room Manage pre-op and post-op patients in both ICU and step-down units Perform procedures such as chest tube placement/removal, wound care, and invasive line management Conduct daily patient rounds, enter orders, and collaborate closely with attending surgeons Support all aspects of inpatient and outpatient cardiothoracic surgical care Facility Details: Average Cases/Day: 2–3 Operating Rooms Dedicated to CVTS: 3 EMR Systems Used: Epic & Cupid Requirements: Board Certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Active Florida license ACLS and BLS certifications Prior experience in cardiothoracic surgery required Strong familiarity with surgical post-op management and ICU protocols This vibrant coastal city offers sunny skies, world-class beaches, and a relaxed yet sophisticated lifestyle.
