Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025. Job Description This is a project/limited term position, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed. Responsibilities: Responsible for outlining and polishing the written content for the streaming shows during tapings. Responsible for supporting the cases with accurate information of other related stories occurring around the world. Assists producers in all aspects of the production of daily streaming content with a focus on writing Writes stories as assigned by producers, including readers, voice-overs, vo/sots, and anchor packages Applies solid news judgment while researching a variety of news sources and materials for stories and graphics creation Identifies and utilizes best video and sound bites for the stories assigned Works with the editors to maximize use of video and ensure accuracy Assists producers and reporters with research, creation of graphics and all aspects of final production (banners, supers, etc.) Works under the direct supervision of the General Producer and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience Minimum 3 years of news writing experience Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal) Minimum 1 year of working experience with iNews Eligibility Requirements: Interested candidate must submit a resume/CV through www.nbcunicareers.com to be considered Must be willing to work in Miami, FL Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice (if applicable) Must have a valid driver’s license (if applicable) Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week (if applicable) Must be able to provide a reel/portfolio of work examples if available, include a web address when you submit your resume (if applicable) Must be 18 years or older Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program Desired Characteristics: Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment Exhibits excellent knowledge of Spanish grammar Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization Proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment Proven excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story desired Additional Information As part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
