Mid-Level Data Scientist Executive – ITC Infotech Location: Monterrey, Mexico Function: Digital Business Solutions (DBS) Supports: Canada Marketing – Insights & Foresights BI Team Role Overview This role is part of the DBS Function in Mexico , supporting the Canada Marketing – Insights & Foresights BI team . As a Mid-Level Data Scientist Executive at ITC Infotech , you will collaborate closely with a diverse and highly skilled team in Monterrey as part of the DBS Hub , working directly with the Insights and Foresights Business Intelligence team in Canada . The role combines strong technical expertise with business acumen to deliver data-driven solutions that support the Canadian business unit in making better decisions through objective, timely, and relevant analysis. You’ll also be responsible for developing scalable analytics tools and automation pipelines, helping BAT transition into a digital, insight-driven business. Core Technical Skills Programming Languages : Strong proficiency in Python and SQL ; R is a plus. Data Processing : Advanced knowledge of pandas , NumPy , PySpark for data manipulation. Machine Learning & AI : Experience building and deploying ML, AI, and NLP models in production. Product Development : Experience developing data products , from prototype to deployment, ensuring usability and scalability. Big Data Technologies : Familiarity with Databricks , Hadoop , Spark . ETL & Data Pipelines : Design and implement core elements of software —understanding requirements, constraints, interfaces, and dependencies. Build and maintain ETL pipelines , including automating POS and VAPS processes , in partnership with Key Account and Trade teams . Establish data pipelines for real-time and accurate performance tracking across the organization. Enable data management architecture for a scalable, digital Trade application . Cloud Platforms : Experience in AWS , Azure , or GCP . Visualization : Skilled in Power BI , Tableau , or MicroStrategy for reporting and insights. Architecture, Design, and Innovation Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code . Identify and tackle technical challenges and proactively propose architecture and performance improvements . Participate in cross-team technical design discussions around application architecture , UI/UX components , backend , 3rd-party integrations , and testing . Support the deployment of advanced analytics solutions across FMCG and NC categories (e.g., event-based simulations , geospatial analytics , IR ). Partner with Data & Analytics CoE and external vendors to deliver cutting-edge data science projects. Champion best practices in tools, technologies, and methodology. Bring innovative ideas to improve the data science practice and help shape the future roadmap . Business Acumen & Analytical Impact Translate business needs into analytical solutions across areas such as Revenue Growth Management , Trade Marketing , and Digital Innovation . Build tools and models that provide actionable insights into market performance, consumer behavior, and category development. Drive insights that influence key decisions in Marketing , Sales , and Strategy functions. Lead integration of new data sources across categories and channels for comprehensive, scalable insights. Collaboration & Communication Partner closely with stakeholders in Mexico and Canada , ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives with engineering, analytics, marketing, and external vendors. Support knowledge sharing and mentor junior team members where appropriate. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science , Engineering , Statistics , or related field. 2–3 years of hands-on experience in data science or analytics, preferably in a client-facing or enterprise environment . Proven experience with ML/AI/NLP model development , product development , and ETL pipeline automation . Experience working in multinational teams and delivering in fast-paced, collaborative settings .
