Job Description
Apprenticeship Engineering Trainer Fulltime, 37 hours per week August 2025 start Salary, £29,249 - £34,948 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. Who are we looking for? Due to the continued growth of our Engineering provision, we are excited to offer opportunities for passionate and experienced Engineering Trainers/Tutors to join our Apprenticeships team. These roles will support the delivery of a range of Engineering Apprenticeship Standards, including: Engineering Operative (Level 2) Lean Manufacturing Operative (Level 2) Engineering Fitter (Level 3) Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician (Level 3) Automation and Controls Technician (Level 4) This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire and develop the next generation of engineers, working with motivated learners across both SMEs and larger organisations in the Burton area. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong backgrounds in manufacturing engineering and maintenance, and welcome specialists in Automation and Controls. Applicants should possess a teaching or training background or be eager to develop their skills in education. A minimum of Level 2 in English and Maths is required, or a willingness to work towards this qualification. Location: The role will be primarily based at our Burton and South Derbyshire College campus on Lichfield Street and with employers within a 20-mile radius. Occasional travel to other college sites, including the Stephen Burke Construction Academy, may be required for meetings or training. Main duties will encompass: Teach and assess learners in the workplace/college Recruit, mentor and support learners throughout their journey Coordinate with employers to ensure effective programme delivery Engage in marketing and recruitment initiatives Contribute to subject development and curriculum enhancement Conduct final course assessments as appropriate Work closely with stakeholders across the college Complete progress reviews with learners Participate in own and department evaluations for continuous improvement Contribute to internal verification and moderation processes This role demands a dynamic and proactive professional who can navigate the complex landscape of apprenticeship programmes while ensuring that the highest standards of quality and compliance are consistently met.
