Responsibilities include utilizing the appropriate techniques for positioning and preparing the patient for surgery, providing visualization of the operative site, assisting with hemostasis, volume replacement or auto transfusion as well as assisting with the closure of body planes. Applies the appropriate wound dressings and provides assistance in securing drainage systems to tissue Provides age-appropriate preoperative assessment and postoperative evaluation of care. Assists with the sterilization and preparation of equipment and supplies Follows all hospital policies related to surgical procedures and the disposal of contaminated items. Participates in the design, coordination, education, evaluation and/or implementation or programs related to patient care programs. Maintains proficiency in technical and professional skills Required Qualifications Registered Nurse, OR Demonstrated knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology and operative techniques.
