Job Description
Job title: Technician Location: Prudhoe (near Newcastle upon Tyne) Hours of work: Full time (37.5 hours per week) with the option of overtime available. 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday with flexibility to work overtime when occasionally required. Must have a valid UK driving licence Offer package: £12.21 per hour (which is £23,809.50 per year and negotiable depending on relevant experience), bonus, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, private healthcare, free breakfast and freshly cooked lunch from our on-site chef, 4% pension match and more (see below) OpenWorks Engineering develop CUAS, Air Defence and Optical Surveillance, Sensing and Tracking Technology for Defence and Security. We’ve developed an award winning and innovative drone capture and autonomous optical detection and tracking technology. The systems offer the capability to protect high profile assets, facilities, the public and VIPs from the threats posed by aerial threats. As a Technician, you’ll: • Assemble and test intricate electro-mechanical camera systems in a clean room environment • Assemble projectiles • Pack nets • Pack parachutes • Re-build shot projectiles from testing and training • Join outdoor field testing • Assist with user training activities What we’re looking for: We’re on the hunt for a number of individuals with: • A valid driving licence (to drive our vehicles on occasion) • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical hand tools • Interested to learn or have basic soldering skills • Interested to learn or have basic good wiring skills • Excellent communication skills • A positive and proactive attitude, highly collaborative and professional • Strong team-workers with the ability to thrive in a small, closely-knit and dedicated team • Detail orientated with excellent organisational skills • A self-motivated mindset, keen to learn and the ability to work unsupervised Vision Help protect the territory and airspace of NATO countries and their allies.
