Position Title: Streets Maintenance Worker (Appr. - Sr.) Job Posting Closing Date: * OPEN UNTIL FILLED* [Applications will be considered in the order they are received.] Provo City Public Works is looking for a full-time Streets Maintenance Worker to perform equipment operation and manual work in the Streets Maintenance Division repairing and maintaining streets and roads. What are the main duties? * Patch holes in streets with asphalt. * Operate road clearance and improvement equipment and perform minor repair and maintenance work on said equipment. * Operate crack sealing and weed sprayer equipment. * Maintain dirt road surfaces, shoulders, and parking lot. * Lay asphalt to specifications with paver. * Perform traffic safety functions. * Respond to the public's needs and assist the public within the general rules of the department. * Perform the work of lower level Street Maintenance Workers as needed and perform other related duties as required. What are the minimum qualifications? * Apprentice Streets Maintenance Worker: 1 year of general equipment operation and/or maintenance experience or other job-related experience. * Streets Maintenance Worker: 2 years of experience as an Apprentice Streets Maintenance Worker; or 3 years of general equipment operation and/or maintenance experience. * Sr. Streets Maintenance Worker: A) 2 years of experience as a Streets Maintenance Worker; or 5 years of comparable, job-related experience. * For all levels, a valid, lawful Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with endorsement of N - Tanker (at time of appointment).
