Were looking for a Cook to join us. Hours:1560 Annualised (You will be paid an average salary based on 30 hours per week, but will work more in the summer months and reduced hours in the winter months). You will be required to work weekends, school holidays and bank holidays. Our trading hours are 10:00-17:00 (reduced in the winter/darker months) 7 days a week. Shifts will fall between the hours of 8am 6pm (with occasional evening events throughout the year). Salary: £19,890 / £12.75 an hour Duration: Fixed term until 30th April 2026 - with potential permanent position available for the right candidate. Someone who can demonstrate the ability and drive to hit the ground running, be very hands on as part of the team (both front & back of house) and who wants to be part of achieving our realistic and fulfilling goals. This role is incredibly varied and will suit someone with great initiative A driving license would be beneficial (but not essential) as senior team members can drive the on-site vehicles to move stock and travel between outlets. We want the food & drink experience at Gibside to be easy and enjoyable for every visitor and every team member too. Our focus is on the future with our café space newly renovated and a new wood-fired pizza outlet on site, this is an exciting time. What you'll be doing As a Cook, your focus will be in the kitchen, helping to prepare and present delicious food from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Your food will be served directly to visitors. Using the framework of our National Trust Cookbook, youll prepare, measure and mix ingredients. Youll help with deliveries and with keeping the kitchen clean, to be compliant with health and safety legislation and to make sure that service runs smoothly. Well give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role.
