Service Worker - PT Dell Rapids at Avera Health summary: The Service Worker at Avera Dells Area Health Hospital is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in various hospital areas including patient rooms, restrooms, and kitchens. This role supports healthcare operations by ensuring compliance with infection control practices and safety guidelines, while also assisting with laundry and food services. The ideal candidate must possess a high school diploma and have the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Location: Avera Dells Area Health Hospital Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Primarily days with possible weekends/evenings/holidays (United States of America) Pay Range: The pay range for this position is listed below. Work where you matter. A Brief Overview Maintains the cleanliness of the hospital campus. What you will do Cleans occupied patient rooms on a daily basis and upon discharges. Cleans other areas of the hospital such as offices, rest rooms, surgery, waiting rooms, wellness, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, lab, x-ray, kitchen, laundry, and hallways. Provides floor care when needed. Assists Maintenance on occasion with lawn care and snow removal. Collects soiled linen; sorts and washes soiled linen; dries, folds, and stores/transports clean linen. Weighs linen to keep an accurate record of linen usage by department. May also mend and iron personal clothing. Keeps cleaning agents properly labeled and stored according to policies and procedures and in compliance with OSHA guidelines and regulations. Understands all chemicals used in the laundry area and knows the location and use of material safety data sheets (MSDS). Follows guidelines for infection control at all times. Follows HAACP guidelines and department policies and procedures during food preparation, distribution, and storage. Records temperatures of beverages, salads, and desserts during food production and service. Complies with physician ordered therapeutic diets during tray service and distribution of condiments. Cleans trays and washes dishes following appropriate policies and procedures. Uses proper dish handling procedures for storing dishes and utensils. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience: High School or GED Equivalent ; one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
