Job Description
Shift: Mon and Wed 11a-7p, and Sat-Sun 8a-4pDescription:Performs routine and some special procedure imaging. Prepares patient for procedures. Assists radiologists when needed. Prepares, operates, and cares for the equipment being used. Adheres to established standards of care. Pursues appropriate continuing education. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties. Adheres to established customer service programs. Performs other duties as assigned, such as quality assurance. Exercises professional judgments in performance of procedures. Provides patient care.Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include the and adheres to the client Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol including proper documentation on images and required body part questionnaires.Assumes responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures and produces good technical images, reviewing completed scans for quality, and completeness for the type of test ordered.Assists physicians during procedures as necessary.Performs quality assurance and calibrations as needed.Will be required to work in case of emergency procedures or when situations arise in the practice.Maintains the cleanliness of all areas, equipment, and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to the practice supervisor.Prints patient CD if needed.Performs routine office tasks, such as answering phones, checking in patients, obtaining previous reports/films, or other related duties as needed.Notifies front desk staff upon exam completion.Shows radiologist images and calls report to attending physician and documents communication if necessary (STAT readings).May be assigned as instructor or preceptor.Introduces themselves and educates each patient or family member regarding the examination that is ordered.Should be knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age, physical and psychosocial stature of patient populations; pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric groups.Attends staff meetings and in-services.Coverage rotation to other outpatient offsite.Duties and hours may change according to the needs of the offsite practices.May be required to work holidays, overtime, and/or day, evening, and overnight shift coverage to help maintain adequate and safe coverage for the outpatient facility.Performs all other related duties as assigned.Position is eligible for certification incentive.Education & Experience graduate from an accredited radiography school or hospital-based program. Technologist must be certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT), ARMRIT, or become ARRT MR certified within one year of the hire date.Continuing education requirements need to be upheld to meet the standards set forth by governing bodies. Current standards are 24 ECE credits over a two-year period depending on the year of birth.BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or must be completed within 90 days of hire.IV certification is preferred or by completion of six months of orientation.MRI safety certification level 2 is required yearly.
