Pepper Lunch is the original Japanese D-I-Y Teppan restaurant, with over 500 stores all over the world. Pepper Lunch promises a dynamic and fresh culinary experience for everyone by presenting the novel concept of sizzling Steaks, Pasta Range, Sizzling Curry, and last but not least our signature Pepper Rice. Current at their George Street, Sydney store, there is a vacancy for an experienced and skilled Restaurant Manager. This is a full-time position. To be considered for this role you must have: • AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma. • At least two years of relevant experience to substitute the formal qualification. • You must be an Australian Citizen/ Permanent Resident or have proper working rights. Role: The position of Restaurant Manager is a ‘hands on’ position, responsible for working in and assisting in managing the operation of the Floor and Bar on a day-to-day basis. The Restaurant Manager is an integral part of the Management Team and is responsible for constant monitoring of Floor and bar activities, and for guiding and assisting Floor Managers, Bar Managers and Attendants in their daily duties. Your main duties include: • Overseeing the operation of the restaurant and to ensure excellence in serving food and beverage in a professional and efficient manner. • Planning menu with Chef, estimates food costs and profits and adjusts menus. • Communicating changes of food preparation formulas, standards to all staff members. • Recruit, hire, select and train and roaster staff member as and when require, provide induction and ongoing training to staff in areas such as customer service, sales techniques, understanding the menu – names and ingredients of food, occupational health, safety and hygiene and cross-cultural communication and ensure that they are confidently able to perform all job duties and rewards, disciplines and terminates appropriately. • Developing a customer driven culture amongst staff members and maintain a sale focused climate by focusing on suggestive selling via ongoing coaching and training of all team members. • Ensuring that all health and food safety codes, product preparation and cleanliness standards are maintained as per the Franchise requirement and company’s safety and security policies are followed. • Monitoring customer service and consult with customers to ensure their satisfaction with meals and services provided. • Dealing with any complaints made by patrons or staff. • Inspecting the dining rooms, kitchen, and storage facilities for cleanliness to ensure the restaurant meets health requirements. • Maintain company and customer expectations by providing appealing Restaurant condition. • Maintain record of stocks, ordering food and supplies and managing the finance of the restaurant. • Maintain business records as outlined in operational manual, analyse financial performance of the store with the Directors and create action plan to improve store performance. Other Skills: • Several years of experience working in a high-volume restaurant • Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, staff, and suppliers • The ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure • Have a strong leadership skill and ability to motivate and manage staff The suitable candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills.
