Here at Rainbows Children's Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care and end-of-life support to over 750 Babies, Children, and Young People living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as approximately 3,000 people, including families, siblings, and carers, across the East Midlands. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our supportive Catering Team at Rainbows Hospice in Loughborough. This is a fulfilling opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of our Babies, Children, Young People, their families, and staff by providing high-quality, thoughtfully prepared meals. Location: Rainbows Hospice, Loughborough Hours: 22.5 hours per week (Mon, Wed, Fri), with flexibility to cover weekends About the role If you love creating homecooked meals and being part of a warm, collaborative kitchen team, this could be the perfect role for you. Some of the key responsibilities include (but not limited to): Preparing nutritious homemade meals, cakes, and snacks from scratch Supporting special dietary needs in partnership with the Care Team and families Keeping the kitchen clean, safe and well-organised Maintaining food safety standards and kitchen hygiene Contributing to a welcoming dining experience for our children, families and staff Further responsibilities can be found by downloading the Job Description. Requirements NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking Basic Food Hygiene (Level 2) and Allergy Awareness Experience cooking fresh meals from scratch A caring attitude and a team spirit Further requirements can be found by downloading the Person Specification.
