Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Design Team to lead our talented group of 8-10 designers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in product design, crafting, and pre-press processes, coupled with excellent leadership and project management skills. This role is pivotal in driving the creative direction of our product lines, ensuring that our offerings remain at the forefront of design innovation and quality in the hospitality industry. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of 8-10 designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development. Design Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement the overall design strategy aligned with company goals and market trends. Oversee the end-to-end design process from concept development to final production, ensuring high standards of quality and innovation. Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Marketing, and Sales to create compelling product designs that meet customer needs and market demands. Ensure all designs are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and manufacturable within cost and time constraints. Process Optimization: Streamline design and pre-press workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce time-to-market. Implement best practices and stay updated with the latest design tools, technologies, and industry trends. Quality Assurance: Maintain rigorous quality control standards throughout the design and production phases. Conduct regular design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key clients and stakeholders to understand their design requirements and incorporate feedback into product development. Present design concepts and prototypes to senior management and clients, effectively communicating the value and vision of design initiatives. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in product design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role. Proven track record in managing design teams within the manufacturing or hospitality industry. Skills: Expertise in product design, crafting, and pre-press processes. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools. Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovation. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with international markets and understanding of global design trends. Knowledge of sustainability practices in product design and manufacturing. Familiarity with supply chain processes and vendor management.
