Responsible for proactively soliciting and managing group/catering-related opportunities. Manages group/catering opportunities not handled by the Event Booking Center. Actively up-sells each business opportunity to maximize revenue. Achieves personal and team revenue goals. Ensures business is properly and promptly handed over for service delivery. Drives customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each experience. Provides service to grow share of the account on behalf of the company. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field. 3 years experience in sales or a related area. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Understanding Markets & Maximizing Revenue Identify new group/catering business to meet revenue goals. Understand market conditions, competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, and sell accordingly. Close the best opportunities based on market conditions and property needs. Monitor same-day selling procedures to maximize revenue and occupancy. Understand the primary target customer and their service expectations; serve the customer by understanding their business issues and concerns to offer better solutions. Conducting Daily Sales Activities Respond to incoming group/catering opportunities outside the Event Booking Center parameters. Use negotiation skills and creative selling to close business and negotiate contracts. Utilize sales resources and support staff effectively. Support operational aspects of booked business, including proposals, contracts, and correspondence. Providing Exceptional Customer Service Support the company’s service and relationship strategies to drive customer loyalty. Service customers to grow share of the account. Adhere to Customer Service Standards and Brand Standards. Provide excellent service to ensure satisfaction before and during events. Partner with Event Management and Operations to exceed customer expectations. Set a positive example in guest relations. Engage with guests for feedback on product quality and service levels. Participate in pre- and post-event meetings to understand needs and gather feedback. Understand customer needs and recommend features/services to meet and exceed expectations, building loyalty. Building Successful Relationships Coordinate with off-property sales channels for aligned efforts. Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers through sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc. Develop community relationships to expand the customer base. Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure effective turnover to Event Management. Additional Responsibilities Use intranet resources and conduct site inspections. Create contracts as needed. Practice daily service basics of the brand.
