Job Description Job Description Mason's Grille 52, the premier casual fine dining restaurant in the Village of Hamburg, seeks a full-time/part-time Sous chef. Our established restaurant of twenty-one years specializes in fresh, upscale American cuisine. Open Wednesday through Saturday for dinner service only, our long-time staff enjoys a condensed work week, involved owners, and a loyal customer base. Duties include: - Daily preparation for evening dinner service, ensuring the highest quality of food and presentation. - Work with the chef to develop weekly features and design seasonal menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to our customer's preferences. - Assist in fostering a collaborative team environment between back and front of the house. - Assist in maintaining inventory levels and manage food costs effectively to maximize profitability. - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling practices. - Be willing to implement improvements as necessary to enhance service quality. Preparing and presenting high quality dishes, communicating weekly inventory needs with management, menu design and implementation, developing positive relationships between back and front of the house, and maintaining proper food costing. Additional income opportunities through catering and in-house events are available. The position allows culinary freedom to design and implement daily features and new menu items. .
