Senior Mechanical Engineer

A well-established consulting engineering practice in Cape Town's Southern Suburbs is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Building Services to lead a growing division. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a minimum of 5 years' experience in building services design, particularly with an interest in luxury lodges and off-grid developments . You'll play a pivotal role in managing diverse wet services and HVAC projects , both locally and internationally. Beyond project delivery, you'll be a mentor and leader, holding team members accountable and nurturing client relationships. Key Responsibilities Include: · Managing a diverse portfolio of wet services & HVAC projects. · Applying expert building engineering & project management knowledge. · Mentoring and guiding project team members. · Ensuring technical, contractual, schedule, budgetary, and client service objectives are met. · Applying strong mechanical engineering skills and oversight to all projects. What You'll Bring: · BSc or BTech in Mechanical Engineering · Professional registration with ECSA. · Experience in Fire design & GBCSA/LEED accreditation would be a significant advantage. · Proven experience (min 5 years) in the complete design and detailing of HVAC & plumbing systems for residential, hospitality, commercial, and retail buildings. · Knowledge of thermal modelling for SANS 10400-XA rational designs. · Ability and interest in designing services for off-grid & remote developments using alternative technologies. · Functional knowledge of BIM software (Revit MEP), MS Office, AutoCAD, and thermal modelling software (e.g., Carrier HAP &/or Designbuilder). · Willingness to travel abroad to remote sites.
