Camphill Community Glencraig is currently recruiting for the following vacancy: 25/45/DSW/WEB Day Support Worker Young Adult Day Services As part of the ongoing development of Adult Day Services in Camphill Community Glencraig, we are currently recruiting for Support Workers to work as part of a team with the purpose of meeting the physical, psychological and social needs of young adults with complex needs. Support Workers in Day Service will assist the team in providing the highest possible standard of support and care to young adults with complex needs, to pursue a valued lifestyle by participating in meaningful daily activities, supporting the well-being and development of skills as well as enhancing and promoting independence, choices and rights within a safe and caring environment. The support worker role may require an element of personal care and at times will require redirection or physical intervention as a last resort with those presenting challenging behaviours. We are looking for empathetic and caring staff who share our values and a desire to help improve and add to the quality of life and well-being of young adults. *Please Note this role does not currently meet the criteria set by the UK Home Office for the Tier 2 Health and Social Care Visa * Salary: 3-Point scale, commencing on £12.60 per hour increasing with length of service Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, Monday Friday (8.30am 3.30pm) *Additional hours may be available in our onsite adults residential homes, through our internal bank staff facility. * Contract: Permanent Closing date: Essential Criteria: QCF level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care or related discipline (In the case of applicants who do not have a QCF level 2 or equivalent but have 1 years relevant care experience this part of the essential criteria will be waived). GCSE in English and Maths at Grade C or above or equivalent Essential Skills in Numeracy and Literacy (English Language) at Level 2 Registered or agreeable to applying for registration with the N. Ireland Social Care Council At least six months experience in a caring and / or educational support field OR 1 years relevant experience as stipulated above. Desirable Criteria:Qualification in Health & Social Care, Social Sciences or equivalent (Level 3 and above) Experience in education or health and social care setting Experience of working with individuals with a disability Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour Skills: Care work Disability care Young Adults Autism care Social care Person centred care Life Skills Benefits: Group Life Assurance Paid Holidays Parking Pension Fund
