Lead Fullstack Engineer – Product-Led Consumer Platform (FoodTech)

With £5M in annual recurring revenue, a 130,000 strong subscriber base, and no external funding pressures, this team is scaling a category-defining product that blends media, tech, and food into one seamless experience. You’ll start off hands-on (75% IC), leading critical builds across a modern stack, before transitioning into a team leadership role as the team grows (managing 4 engineers by year-end). Expect to influence tech strategy, shape culture, and ship features that impact hundreds of thousands of users each week. The Role As Lead Fullstack Engineer, you'll: Own architecture and delivery across a modular, cross-platform system (Web & Mobile) Collaborate daily with Product, Design, Content, and QA to shape what gets built Mentor and lead a growing team of engineers, supporting their development and performance Work across personalised meal planning, AI-driven tools, content workflows, and partner integrations ️ Tech Stack Frontend : React, Next.js Backend : Node.js, TypeScript (some PHP) Mobile : Flutter (This isn't essential) Infra : AWS, modular services, automated CI/CD Minor CMS (PHP) used for editorial — not central to the role The Team You’ll report into the Head of Engineering and lead a tight-knit product team of engineers, PMs, QA, BA, and design — all in-house and collaborative.
