As the Director of Events and Programs, you’ll play a critical role in delivering exceptional conferences, educational programs, and webinars for SIOR members and stakeholders. This position reports to the EVP, Member Experience. The Director of Events and Programs oversees and supports the development and administration of SIOR conferences, education programs, meetings, and events. This role manages all aspects of event logistics, sponsorship operations, education program delivery, and internal team coordination to ensure seamless execution and member engagement. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SIOR Global Events General Responsibilities Conduct site planning visits with EVP. Works with hotels, venues, vendors, DMCs, entertainment and offsites and creates planning agendas with all vendors/venues. Works with EVP on site selection for future years. Works with EVP on all contract negotiations and execution. Primary staff liaison to the Host Chapter Committee. Manage selection, planning and on-site management of optional events and tours. Serve as a show/floor manager on-site at the bi-annual conferences. Primary liaison with marketing department regarding all logistics, emails, surveys etc. Primary contact with all venues, hotels, offsite locations, transportation companies, entertainment, vendors and DMC. Primary contact for registration and mobile app. Creates onsite signage and registration experience Coordinate event insurance coverage. Manages room blocks and contracts overflow as needed. Creates all meeting specs including AV, room sets, F&B, IT, Electric, Décor. Creates team schedule and pre-con document Contributes to budget development with the EVP Final bill and financial reconciliation in conjunction with the EVP Exhibit & Sponsorship Management Manage RFP process and selection of general services contractor/decorator for conferences. Oversee sponsorship and exhibitor concierge program and raffle logistics. Coordinate with sponsors on deliverables including swag, amenities and exhibitor kits. Oversee booth selection. Review exhibitor prospectus Primary liaison to the general services contractor/decorator. Works with EVP on contracts with GSC. SIOR Education Courses & Programs Manages and oversees the Next Level Series. Manages LMS course and SIOR Webinar program, including registration, facilitation, and post event uploads. Work with committees and member groups to develop educational content and schedule webinars. Team liaison on the education committee Manages internal MCC meetings SIOR Meetings Oversee all logistical components of the board and strategic planning meetings including contracts, food and beverage functions, hotel reservations, and audio visual components. Oversee all logistical components of the annual Budget & Finance Committee to include food and beverage and hotel reservations. Other Duties Perform other duties as assigned. SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Exceptional interpersonal, communication and customer relationship skills are critical. Superior organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work with other staff members to meet deadlines in a high volume, fast paced environment. Natural team-building skills and an interest in meetings, education and marketing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AMS experience required, Adobe creative experience a plus. Experience with exhibit and sponsorship operations. Ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions under pressure. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Seven years association experience, meetings and/or programming experience a plus.
