Junior Outdoor Data Technician

We are seeking a Junior Outdoor Data Technician on a 1-year contract basis in our Massarosa, Italy location. In this role, you will be responsible for completing well-defined tasks related to the curation of outdoor trail data , which will be used in creating navigational outdoor maps for our mobile applications and GPS-enabled devices. What you’ll do: Work as a data processing operator, trained by and under the supervision of a technical lead mentor. Create, edit, and maintain outdoor trail data using Garmin-proprietary and/or third-party software. Complete well-defined processing tasks. Identify data problems and process limitations, seeking resolutions through available tools and collaboration with peers and mentors. Cultivate a customer-oriented service culture within your function. Apply a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on priorities. What you’ll need: Experience with advanced computer-based tools involving graphical elements (e.g., CAD 3D, Image Editing, Web Design). Proficient computer skills and familiarity with PC applications in a Windows environment. Fluent in Italian, with effective communication skills in English. Some experience with maps, preferably for hiking or cycling activities. Good interpersonal and communication skills, with effective time management. Enthusiastic attitude with a strong sense of commitment, accountability, and urgency. Ability to focus on tasks, share ideas positively, and demonstrate a growth mindset and eagerness to learn. Bonus points if you have: Passion for hiking in hilly terrain with experience using GPS devices. Experience with GIS software. Some fluency in Spanish.
