Position The Global QHSSE Advisor Marine helps to establish and maintain safe working practices and a safe environment for employees and customers. You do this by implementing, maintaining, and improving best practices in Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (QHSSE). You are the point of contact between office and vessels, supporting captains and crew, performing audits and follow-up actions, manages the QHSSE management system, and promotes safety awareness across the organization. Your tasks and responsibilities Manage, monitor, review, update, implement, and report on all QHSSE aspects for Marine operations. Ensure that all personnel understand the QHSSE Policy and the relevant Rules, Regulations, Codes and Guidelines. Maintain STAR IPS and the Roll Group Operating Management System (ROMS-Marine). Support in the provision of necessary QHSSE communication materials to increase safety awareness (e.g. Lessons Learned, outcome of incident investigations). Ensure that the training needs of all shore-based staff, with respect to QHSSE are addressed. Responsible for clear communication between the QHSSE department and the Captains onboard. Support in the review of all reports of non-conformities, observations, hazardous situations, and the related corrective actions with relevant personnel, update procedures, coordinate reports and present these for analysis at Management review meetings. Execute, and follow up on all internal and external audits when necessary. Support in the coordination of related certification/inspection programs (e.g. ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISM). Analyzing, reporting on, and follow up of incident, and learning from normal work. Your qualifications You are proactive, structured and have a practical mindset. You take ownership, work accurately and feel responsible for supporting safe and compliant operations. You are able to connect with people at all levels, both on shore and on board, and know how to balance safety, quality, and operational needs. In addition, you bring: Higher vocational education (Maritime) or equivalent. At least 3 years of experience in the maritime industry and in a similar QHSSE role. Experience with QHSSE management and knowledge of international regulations and standards. QHSSE certifications (e.g. NEBOSH certificate (MVK), ISO 45001 Lead Auditor) or willing to obtain them. Experience with OVMSA and working with suppliers on QHSSE performance. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with different stakeholders. Proven contribution to a positive safety culture. Comfortable working in an international and operational environment. Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written. Willing to travel abroad occasionally. What we offer Challenging and varied work (full-time) at a fast-growing international company.
