Covia is looking for a dynamic 2nd shift Dredge Operator who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Tuscaloosa, AL location. As a Dredge Operator, you will mainly be responsible for the safe operation of our cutterhead dredge. The successful candidate will have the following Key Accountabilities: * Ensure Safety is the top priority. All activities are to be completed following MSHA regulations, Plant procedures, and Corporate Safety and Health policies. * Ensure compliance with quality procedures and standards * Communicate with key personnel at shift change, daily * Perform other job duties as assigned The successful candidate will have the following Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED required * Literacy in English, both verbally and written * Previous experience within sand mining operations preferred, but not required * Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment adequately * Oral and written communication skills * Swimming is a preferred skill to have * Basic mechanical aptitude Commitment to Our Culture Our core values - Safety, Team, Customers, Growth, and Courage-guide our work every day and will help us achieve our vision: Covia is the leading minerals solutions provider, and through the passion and commitment of our people, we enable customer success-ensuring a sustainable future for our company.
