Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/23/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel L&D (Labor and Delivery) 2 years experience Required Certifications BLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, NRP Shift Notes 12x3 – Potential to be scheduled 3 out of 4 weekends. -Ability to be overstaffed three 12 hour shifts per 13 week contract, with call back. -Willing to float to med/surg department. Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) Unit Overview Unit Description: Our LDRP unit offers comprehensive care in a warm, patient-centered environment. The unit operates on a rotating day/night and weekday/weekend schedule, providing consistent, high-quality care to families around the clock. Average Births: 25–33 births per month Facility Capacity: 6 birthing suites 4 postpartum/surgical recovery rooms Total of 10 patient rooms Staffing Model: 1 nurse per labor patient 1 nurse assigned to 2 mother-baby couplets (occasionally up to 3) Provider Coverage: 3 OB/GYN physicians 4 family practice physicians who perform deliveries Lactation Support: Certified Lactation Consultant available 3 days per week Clinical Characteristics: The majority of births are low-risk. High-risk pregnancies and deliveries are typically referred to a regional center in Duluth. Nurses do not circulate in C-sections; their role during cesarean deliveries is to assist with newborn care. Position Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification A minimum of one year of full-time experience in LDRP or equivalent Completion of a Fetal Heart Monitoring course preferred One year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience About the Community: Located in the heart of the Northland, Grand Rapids, Minnesota offers a unique blend of small-town charm and modern amenities.
