Chef - Head of food prep - for Scandinavian Cafes in London Sick of evening work? Want to manage nice people, have fun, make pretty food - and have actual business input? It might be YOU that were looking for. This role has lots of scope to grow and take more responsibilities across the different cafes and work closely with our Founders and Hospitality Ops Manager. A bit about us: Were ScandiKitchen. Been around as a café/deli for almost 18 years - and have now also opened another one, with plans for more. Our cafes serve Scandi food made in our prep kitchens on site: pretty open sandwiches, meatballs, salads, rolls, buns and cakes as well as Scandinavian inspired breakfast. In this role, your main responsibilities will be: - Manage the day-to-day kitchen teams across both locations and assist the team with daily prep and planning in this hands-on role. -Oversee the running of the kitchens and ensure we stay effective, efficient and that our offering continues to be great tasting and innovative. - Responsible for kitchen stock and ordering as well as managing ongoing costings. - Responsible for kitchen Health & Safety - As part of the management team, you will assist with menu development, business planning and team recruitment. What you look like: - Solid experience of working in a professional kitchen essential. - Experience of managing or supervising a team - An understanding /interest of Nordic food culture - Youre full of energy with excellent attention to detail - and can think outside the box. - Clean and tidy and able to work in an organised manner. - You dont stress easily, and you bring a positive attitude to work. - An absolutely team player: You know that when the team clicks, everyone wins. - Knowledge of a Nordic language helpful (but not essential). Finer details: - Place of work is central London (Fitzrovia and Victoria). - Daytime hours only (yes, there is weekend work because we ALL share the weekends to make it fair for everyone). - Full time (by this, we mean around 40 hours). This role is not offered part time. - You need to have the right to work in the UK to apply.
