TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in White Plains, New York, 10601! About The Position Shift: 7a-715pm, 2 shifts per week Alt weekend / Registered Nurse provides direct patient care and collaborates with patients, family/significant others, peers, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in delivering healthcare services. The Registered Nurse assesses patient needs, plans care, implements and evaluates medical and nursing regimens in accordance with hospital philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards. They demonstrate leadership skills and a commitment to professional accountability and growth.Essential functions and responsibilities include adhering to client Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors; providing respectful care that promotes mutual respect, shared decision-making, and informed consent while respecting patient autonomy and dignity regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, language, or any other protected status. Labor & Delivery RNs provide respectful birthing care under the same inclusive principles. The RN utilizes the nursing process to meet age-specific patient needs in biophysical, psychosocial, educational, safety, environmental, and discharge planning aspects. They prioritize and address patient care and unit-based issues, administer blood and blood products per policy, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. The RN integrates patient rights and nursing ethics into practice, adheres to infection control standards, follows Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, and delegates tasks to ancillary staff per the State Nurse Practice Act. They uphold the ANA Code of Nursing Ethics & Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, support and promote the client Professional Nursing Practice Model, sustain and advance the Magnet model, and participate in Performance Improvement initiatives. Additional responsibilities include completing competency requirements, attending mandatory in-services and staff meetings, implementing cost-containment practices, assuming Charge Nurse responsibilities as needed, and performing other duties as assigned.Education and experience requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing school with a current New York RN license/registration, a BSN degree, and knowledge of current nursing, medical, and health trends. One year of acute care nursing experience is preferred for areas other than medical-surgical or step-down. Required certifications include BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (for all RNs except NICU and OR, with newly hired inexperienced nurses required to obtain it within 12 months and experienced nurses within six months), and PALS (for RNs working in PACU, Pediatrics, Emergency Department, Armonk Urgent Care, Ambulatory Surgery, and 226 Ambulatory Surgery Center, with newly hired inexperienced nurses required to obtain it within 12 months and experienced nurses within six months). NRP certification is required for RNs in the Mother-Baby Unit, Labor & Delivery, and NICU, with newly hired nurses required to obtain it within six months.All registered nurses and advanced practice nurses providing direct oncology care must either hold a current cancer-specific certification from an accredited program (e.g., AOCNP®, AOCNS®, AOCN®, BMTCN®, CPHON®, CPON®, CBCN®, OCN®) or complete 36 cancer-related continuing education nursing contact hours every three years (maintained by the department manager). Registered Nurses in the Emergency Department must complete de-escalation training within one year of hire or transfer.
