Key Responsibilities (for OT/COTA): Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, self-care abilities, and other areas impacting their educational participation. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) with measurable goals and objectives. Provide direct occupational therapy interventions, individually or in small groups, focusing on areas such as: Fine motor skills (handwriting, cutting, manipulation of small objects) Visual-motor and perceptual skills Sensory processing and regulation strategies Self-help and daily living skills (dressing, feeding, hygiene) Gross motor skills affecting classroom participation Assistive technology recommendations and training Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom and home environments. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations. Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development opportunities. Educate staff and families on occupational therapy strategies and adaptive techniques. Qualifications: For Occupational Therapist (OT): Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current and valid New Mexico Occupational Therapist license. National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification. For Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA): Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current and valid New Mexico Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license. National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification. Experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations is preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
