Hotel General Manager Location: Lynmouth, North Devon | Full-Time | Live-in Option Available Salary: £Competitive Bonus Potential Benefits Recruiting now through Quartz Hospitality Recruitment A rare opportunity for a seasoned Hotel General Manager to take the lead at a well-established independent coastal hotel in one of the most scenic spots in the UK. This is a hands-on, all-encompassing leadership role with full responsibility for the hotels performance. Youll work closely with ownership to deliver excellent guest experiences, drive commercial success, and guide a passionate team. If you thrive on autonomy, variety, and making a meaningful impact this is for you. ________________________________________ About the Role As General Manager, you'll oversee daily operations, financial strategy, guest satisfaction, food & beverage performance, and sales. Your focus will be on maintaining high standards, boosting revenue, and building a positive, productive culture across the hotel. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Take full ownership of hotel operations, commercial performance, and guest satisfaction Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting Drive sales and marketing, submit an annual 12-month plan, and complete competitor analysis Conduct regular sales activity via phone, Zoom or Teams Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and hygiene standards Oversee staff accommodation and property maintenance planning Team Development Recruit, train, and motivate a high-performing, guest-focused team Use FLOW training and ongoing development to ensure service standards Manage rotas, wage costs, and performance expectations Lead by example hands-on leadership is key Rooms Division Maintain consistently high room standards Monitor occupancy, pricing, and positioning in the local market Handle guest feedback professionally and proactively Food & Beverage Oversee the F&B operation, ensuring quality, creativity, and consistency Control cost of sales and supplier relationships Encourage innovation in menu development and promotions Monitor figures and performance across service periods Conduct monthly operational inspections and ensure compliance ________________________________________ What Youll Bring Proven track record in hotel general management Strong background in both Rooms and Food & Beverage Commercial awareness with budgeting, forecasting, and sales strategy experience Natural leadership qualities and a team-first mindset Confident with systems such as Newbridge, Zonal, Micros, or similar Creative, adaptable and forward-thinking with excellent communication skills Hands-on management style leads by example Understanding of GP management, stock control, supplier negotiation, and cost efficiencies ________________________________________ Whats On Offer Competitive salary (based on experience) Bonus potential based on performance Live-in accommodation option available Autonomy to shape the hotels success and vision Beautiful coastal location surf, hike, relax on your days off Supportive and engaged owners Opportunity to make your mark in a unique, independent environment ________________________________________ Apply today through Quartz Hospitality Recruitment Send us your CV and a short cover letter explaining why this role excites you.
