Housekeeping Assistant

Location: Burgh Island, Devon Role: Housekeeper Reporting to: Head Housekeeper / Executive Head Housekeeper Salary: £28,121.60 per annum (live out) / £25,396.80 per annum (live in) Contract: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (rota-based) At Burgh Island Hotel , our beautifully restored art deco landmark offers a unique and luxurious escape like no other. Set on its own tidal island off the Devon coast, we are proud to deliver a guest experience steeped in charm, style, and meticulous attention to detail. We are now looking for dedicated and detail-driven Housekeepers to join our exceptional team and help us maintain the highest standards across this iconic hotel. What Youll Do Service and clean a set number of guest bedrooms daily to exacting standards. Carry out evening turndown service to create a luxurious night-time environment for guests. Respond to guest requests (such as additional items or amenities) promptly and professionally. Ensure public areas are immaculate throughout the day. Assist with deep cleans, linen handling, and back-of-house cleanliness. Handle all tasks with discretion, security awareness, and pride in your work. Always greet guests with a warm smile and professional presence. Working Hours & Flexibility 40-hour contract across 5 days per week , scheduled on a rota basis . Shifts may start at 7am , 9am , or 1pm full flexibility is essential. Weekends and bank holidays are part of the schedule. Accommodation Live-in accommodation is available in our subsidised staff housing , subject to availability at the time of offer. Important to Know Due to our remote island location, live-out applicants must have a car and valid driving licence .
