The physician is required to be on-site during the hours and dates specified. Regular hours for inpatient consultation are weekdays from 07:00 AM to 03:00 PM. The provider is expected to see patients in the office if the need arises. The provider will oversee scheduled radiation treatments. There may be calls to round or consult on inpatients. The physician must be on-site while providing radiation treatments. On-call or after-hours duties are rare. There is a possibility that an emergency physician may request an emergent consultation for a radiation treatment after hours or on a weekend. This situation occurs maybe once or twice a year. There will be no on-call requirement beyond the rarely outlined situations. Physicians are required to see new consults, follow-up visits, treatment planning for new patients, and on-treatment weekly visits. Physicians, if staying in a hotel, should choose accommodations that are closer to the hospital to minimize travel time.
